Techniteer Troupes are able to choose their focus from a variety of different STEAM activities, including programming, coding, engineering, filmmaking, Virtual Reality, GIS/GPS, and other critical thinking activities. Activities vary from school to school, but each Troupe is doing something amazing each week!

Code.org
Code.org provides students an opportunity to learn computer science through K-12 curriculum that engages students in basic to advanced coding, programming, and problem solving activities.

CS-First
CS-First is a free computer science curriculum from Google that makes coding easy and fun. Students learn through video-based activities with different themes like sports, art, and game design.

Makey Makey
The Makey Makey allows students to explore circuits and create controls that are just plain cool. Using conductive materials, students can create keyboards, game controllers, or just about anything else! Students can even program their own tools and games in Scratch and control them with Makey Makey. Check out some of these cool projects people have put together with the Makey Makey.

​Sphero
The Sphero is robot ball students can program to move, change colors, and perform all kinds of tricks. Using the SpheroEDU app,  student learn basic block coding as well as math skills since coding a sphero requires knowledge of angles, ratios, shapes, and more.

Breakout EDU
Breakout EDU engages students in immersive learning games that require them to use team work and problem solving to reveal mysteries, "escape" from lockboxes, and resolve world problems. Breakout scenarios can connect to any content area and can adjust to any age and ability level. Think of Breakout EDU as an educational escape room in a box.

The Canyons School District Educational Technology team in the Instructional Supports Department (ISD) supports school-based Techniteer Troupes. 

The Ed Tech team is made up of two groups:
  1. Educational Technology Specialists - District-level content specialists who support educational technology pedagogy, programs, tools, and systems district-wide
  2. Educational Technology Coaches - School-based instructional coaches who support teachers with educational technology pedagogy, tools, and best practices
